Pestana Inhaca Lodge is located on Inhaca Island, at the entrance of Maputo Bay, in the south of Mozambique. Although small, this island has great tourism value due to its beautiful coral reefs and gorgeous beaches. The entire island is protected as a natural reserve, along with the nearby Portuguese Island.
The hotel in Inhaca is located on the beach, amidst colonies of coconut trees and lush tropical vegetation. It is known for its marvelous gardens, warm hospitality and delicious food.
Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool where drinks or snacks can be served, or make use of the selection of games available at the game parlor room. The most active and adventurous can partake in the following activities: scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, pedestrian walks on numerous tracks, excursions to the lighthouse, the Marine Biology Museum, whale watching, as well as boat visits to Portuguese Island and Santa Maria.
The hotel has a restaurant that extends outdoors, to an adjacent terrace, where you can appreciate a full view of the garden, swimming pool and sea, and where you can also, enjoy your main meals. The gastronomic delights of the island offer delicious flavors where traditional dishes are served ″A la carte“ or buffet style.
In order to relax after a day at the beach, we invite you to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. The Piña Colada is a favorite or feel at home and have your usual afternoon tea.
Pestana Inhaca Lodge has a total of 40 rooms located amongst wonderful coconut trees and exotic gardens, all of them equipped with mosquito nets, ceiling fans, telephones, Satellite TV, Air Conditioning and Internet Access.
Although it′s almost linked by land, you can access it by boat, depending on the option between 1 to 2 hours, or a light plane that takes 15 minutes. It′s about 30 km across from Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique.
If you want to experience the local sprit, there is the Maputo ferry called Nyeleti, that travels across Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, departures 07:00 and arrival at Inhaca 10:30. Prices with return are 400 Meticais, around 15 USD. There are return trips on the same days at 14:30 and estimated arrival at Maputo 17:00.
Over the week ends there is an additional Tourist Ferry option, with similar timelables and tickets are 1500 meticais, around 56 USD.
NOTE: Time tables and indicated are according to local information and placed here for your guidance and not of the hotel or Pestana Groups responsibility. As the Island is a protected natural reserve there is a minimal government contribution tax fee of 200 meticais per adult, around 7.50 USD.
